Ways to Give

Once people start learning about what we do at our Eye-Camps, many of them are moved enough to want to get involved in some way. However what we achieve, depends on the funds we manage to raise. As Muslims, helping the poor and needy means our responsibility and we all must bear the burden, by striving to fulfill one of the basic tenets of Islam: Giving to the poor. Prophet Mohammad (s.a.w.) has said, 'Wealth is not diminished by charity'. So don't turn your back, help in whatever way you can:

Small gestures can make a world of difference to another person !

When shopping, there are normally a couple of  Kroners change. Put these into one of our collection tins normally found at the till point instead of weighing down your pockets. Individually it can't buy anything but if everyone did it, the charities would be able to help a lot of people.

By sending a donation to Anjuman-e-Behbood-e-Mareezan Denmark Pakistan [Patient Welfare Society Denmark-Pakistan] today, you can help us to provide vitally needed reproductive health care in rural communities of Pakistan. Even the smallest gift will help make the difference between a life spent in darkness and a life immeasurably enriched by the
Gift of Sight.

Legacy Gift

Your gift to Anjuman-e-Behbood-e-Mareezan Denmark Pakistan (ABMDP) ensures that ABMDP is here for the next generation. A Legacy Gift is a charitable donation of any amount, designated through your will or living trust.

What is a Legacy Gift?

A Legacy Gift is a charitable donation of any amount, designated through your will or living trust. The gift does not cost you anything right now, but will be a future gift to ABMDP and live on in your legacy. The gift from your estate will support the mission of ABMDP.

Who do I contact about making a Legacy Gift to ABMDP?

Please contact Haji Mohammad Iqbal, Patron-in-Chief of ABMDP, at (+45) 81 74 24 26 or by email at iqbal@giftofsight.info. Thank you for considering helping ABMDP thrive in the very long-term!

What do I need to say in my will to make a Legacy Gift to ABMDP?

Here is sample language that you can use in your will to make a Legacy Gift to ABMDP:

I give, devise, and bequeath [the sum of _____ USD (or other currency) OR _____ percent of the rest and residue of my estate] to Anjuman-e-Behbood-e-Mareezan Denmark Pakistan (Regd. No. DSW(Pb) 82-1764), a charitable organization organized under the laws of Governmant of Punjab, Pakistan, currently located at Primary Health Center, G.T. Road, Tehsil Dina Distt. Jhelum, Pakistan, to be used for its general charitable purposes at its discretion.

I have already included ABMDP in my will. What should I do now?

Matching Gifts

Matching Gifts are a great, easy way to double or even triple your donation to ABMDP.

ABMDP does not have requirements or guidelines for employer matching gifts. All matching gift program guidelines are determined by each company for their individual program.

If your company does not have a matching gift program in place, you can contact your Human Resources Department about starting one.

Donate your old glasses and sunglasses

Knowing glasses are destined to help others see, our latest program involves collection of old pair of glasses. Once collected, your old glasses and sunglasses will be cleaned and repaired before being classified according to prescription. After refurbishment, the glasses are ready to be handed to the needy people.

You may not be using glasses yourself, but you probably know a friend, relative or colleague who might have a pair of old glasses lying around. Encourage as many people as possible to donate old glasses and sunglasses.

You could set up a collection program at your childs and other schools, masjids, the workplace etc. - in short, places where people gather. Spread the word - E-mail and tell everyone you know about what we do here at Anjuman-e-Behbood-e-Mareezan Denmark-Pakistan and our Eye-Camps.

Organize a fundraising event

  1. Arrange street collections and raffles
  2. Involve your colleagues/staff in selling raffle tickets etc.
  3. Arrange a sports tournmaent
  4. Collect old/broken appliances, furniture, toys etc. and repair these
  5. Place your next order with a supplier who will help you repair your broken/outdated computer equipment, which you then can donate or sell.
  6. Place collection boxes in each department, into which your colleagues/staff could put their small change from lunch. At the end of each month, everyone in the department that collects the most money gets an extra hour for lunch and at the end of the year the overall winners get a day off.

If you have any other ideas, please send them to us and we will add them to this list.

Become a volunteer

By donating your time, skills and talents to help us raise funds and awareness for charitable eye care work, you will relatively soon discover why so many people find volunteering a rewarding and satisfying experience. By volunteering you will:

  1. Help a cause you believe in
  2. Touch the lives of hundreds
  3. Meet people and make new friends!
  4. Make a difference
  5. Strengthen your communication skills
  6. Learn new skills
  7. Gain work experience
  8. Expand your horizons

If you have much, give of your wealth; if you have little, give of your heart.
